HPT has two important announcements regarding Siemens.
On September 1, Siemens sold the General Filter brand to Westec. At the same time, Tonka Equipment Co. offered HPT their line. HPT elected to accept Tonka’s offer. Tonka has become a leader in the water industry in the last few decades with a broad offering of services and equipment for the water treatment industry. Tonka’s approach to the market matches up well with HPT in that Tonka offers process solutions, and helps our customers solve problems.
Last week, Siemens announced their plan to sell their Water Technologies business. Water Technologies includes leading industry brands of BioMag/CoMag, Davco, Davis Process, Envirex, Jet Tech, Memcor,RJE Odor Control, W&T Chlorinators, OSEC and Zimpro. It appears that the sale will close some time in the first or second quarter of 2013. We already know of several parties who have expressed an interest.
HPT has represented Envirex and most of the other brands for 20-30 years. During this time, there have been a number of corporate owners that preceded Siemens, notably, Banner Industries, NW Water, US Filter, Vivendi and Veolia. What has remained constant is HPT continues to assist engineers and owners with water and wastewater treatment solutions without disruption to our customers for 102 years. As we all go through more market turmoil, HPT will continue to offer the strongest and best products, even as Siemens divests itself of the Water Technologies unit. It is HPT’s goal to enable our customers to improve quality and reduce cost of their water treatment.
Toward this end, our values remain unchanged and we will:
-Take care of the customer
-Achieve profitable growth
-Treat employees and competitors with respect
-Differentiate though innovation and unique solutions
-Define gaps and fill needs.
