GOLDEN HARVEST SHIPS UV LEVEL CONTROL GATES FOR INDIANAPOLIS:
Golden Harvest, Inc. recently shipped seven (7) GH-9000 level control gates from their factory in Burlington,Washington for installation in Indianapolis, Indiana’s Belmont Wastewater Treatment Plant. This will be the world’s largest installation for controlling water levels with an ultraviolet disinfection system.
The gates will be installed to control water level in the 98” wide channel following the Trojan Technologies UV3000Plus Ultraviolet Disinfection System. The system will treat 170 MGD peak flow through seven channels.
Each gate which is fabricated from 316L stainless steel, will control flows from 8 – 25 mgd with total headloss of 3-6” across the entire flow range. The gates require no electrical
connections and were selected as a simpler alternative to electrically controlled weir gates.
The system is scheduled to begin operation in summer of 2013.

Level Control with only 1.5” of Headloss!
The Golden Harvest, Inc. Model GH-9000 level control gate utilizes force-balance control to automatically maintain a constant upstream water level at any given discharge while minimizing headloss. Sizes and materials of construction are available to meet a wide variety of flow control needs ranging from almost zero to 2000 cfs. The gate nearly closes at low discharge and progressively opens as the flow increases. The gate operates completely free of outside power and after initial adjustment, absolutely no manual intervention is required. The GH-9000 functions properly even when the tailwater level nearly equals the desired upstream water level, providing a solution to design challenges at gravity fed facilities when elevation is at a premium.
