Reduced polymer consumption and less maintenance from ProMinent® ProMix® polymer feed systems have proven to be a cost-effective solution for plant’s chemical feed needs.

Staff at the City of Mankato, Minn., Water Treatment Plant were experiencing problems with the existing polymer system: poor mixing and inadequate activation, as well as a number of maintenance issues that cost the city time and money. The plant elected to install a new polymer blending and mixing system that provides efficient polymer activation through a 3-stage mixing system…

Newark’s HRT Facility-Project cost is 50 cents/gal

The City of Newark started up their new 30 mgd High Rate Treatment (HRT) facility in 2011.  Wet weather flow is diverted to the HRT when plant capacity is exceeded.  Effluent criteria is a minimum 80% removal of TSS and 126/100 ml E. Coli.

The entire 30mgd facility fits on a 65 ft x 195 ft footprint.

Major items of the process include:

1. Pumps – Five Flygt pumps, each 6000 gpm at 30 ft
2. Screens – Two Parkson AquaGuard™ Screens, 6mm, each 15 mgd
3. Grit Removal – Two Eutek Headcells™ by Hydro International, each 15 mgd, 12 ft dia, 904 sq ft surface area(each), 95% removal greater than 150 mesh
4. HRT – two 15 mgd Actiflo™ units by Kruger, 60gpm/sf
5. UV Disinfection – One Trojan Trojan UV4000Plus, 28 mgd

Prominent – Peristaltic Pumps

The peristaltic (hose) pumps manufactured by ProMinent are characterized by their simple functional principle and their compact, robust design. The DULCO®flex series offers a large output range (0.26 gph to 230 gpm) and a number of different hose materials suitable for almost all applications.  Pumps for low pressures are equipped with roller technology, while pressing shoes are used for higher pressures.

Because of their design, the hose is the only wearing part which can be replaced easily and quickly.

Advantages of Prominent Peristaltic Pumps

-Extremely low maintenance costs
-Easy to operate
-Easy and quick hose replacement
-Can run dry
-Self-priming
-Abrasion resistant
-Great for shear sensitive materials|
